Preparations

Make preparations well in advance.

Choose A Route

Note the physical strength of your members before deciding on a particular route. Orientation comes easily in places with clear landforms, while it is very easy to get lost in geologically complex locations, like Luk Wu in Sai King where the trails are a maze. Use extra care if you are planning a hike in these destinations.

Take ample water, with enough for your planned route. Identify a back-up route to cater for any unexpected situation. . Unless you have received special training and have made proper preparations, keep on the maintained trails and paths with clear direction posts. This single precaution will minimize accidents.
