Keung Shan Country Trail Information

Keung Shan country trail goes down south at Fan Shui Au. Paved with natural rocks, this section has a very pleasant natural feeling. About 1 kilometre in front you arrive at the Kau Ling Chung Catchwater, the finishing point of this trail.

About 200 metres from this point lies the entrance of Kau Ling Chung Campsite. As the most idyllic camp ground on Lantau, this site has a beach with translucent water and slivery sand. On a knoll east of the campsite, you find a lookout pavilion and the South Lantau Obelisk.

The South Lantau Obelisk is set atop a hill 60m above Kau Ling Chung. It was erected in 1902, following China and Britain's signing of the "Sino-British Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory" on 9 June 1898.
