Lau Shui Heung Country Trail Information

Lau Shui Heung Country Trail begins and ends in the picturesque Lau Shui Heung Reservoir. An irrigation facility , the reservoir is only 3.5 hectares in size. It was built after the Second World War to supply fresh water to the many agricultural fields nearby. Your hike leads from the wooden archto a fire lookout where the country park staff watch out for any outbreak of hillfire.

Past the lookout, the trail comes to Kat Tsai Shan Au, a pass so named for its rich crop of mandarins in the old days. The agricultural activity ceased because of the Second World War. There is a peak called Lung Shan nearby, formerly known as Cheuk Shan (Bird Hill). It was renamed by villagers for auspicious fung shui reasons. Down the trail, there are various recreation facilities such as bridges, campsites and barbecue sites.
