Aberdeen Reservoir to Wong Nai Chung Gap

From the environs of Aberdeen Lower Reservoir, and then higher up, visitors can appreciate the striking scenery of Aberdeen valley with its two reservoirs -best seen from the dam wall of the Aberdeen Upper Reservoir. Beyond the reservoir, and above a short slope, Lady Clementi's Ride winds round the hills. From along here, between gaps in the trees, one can see Aberdeen Harbour and Ap Lei Chau - with the typhoon shelter, road bridge and massed buildings at South Horizons. There is a steep climb up some steps from Nam Fung Road to Black's Link, but the effort is worth it. From Black's Link there are wonderful views of Wong Chuk Hang, Deep Water Bay, Lamma Island and right out to sea.

Black's Link is a path that connects Wanchai Gap and Wong Nai Chung Gap. Crossing Mount Cameron (410m) and Mount Nicholson (430m), it overlaps with some section of Section 4 of the Hong Kong Trail. Shown here is the ridgeline of Mount Nicholson above the link.
