Starting at the Twisk Management Centre, Tai Mo Shan,
the route goes along the forested Stage 9 of the
MacLehose Trail. Here, amidst the shady acacia
trees, walking is pleasant and relaxing. Take the
left-hand forest trail to Lin Fa Shan at the junction
of Lin Fa Shan, then change course at the end of
the trail. Here trees are planted by corporations
in the Corporate Afforestation Scheme. You will
also see the ruined Lin Fa Shan school. From there
walk straight ahead along Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail
towards Tsuen Wan, where you have magnificent views
of Tsing Ma Bridge at Shek Lung Kung. Besides viewing
Tsuen Wan and Tsing Yi, you also overlook distant
Lantau Island and Hong Kong International Airport.
Named after Tai
Mo Shan (957 m), the highest mountain in Hong Kong,
Tai Mo Shan Country Park is traversed by Route Twisk.
The word "Twisk" actually indicates the
highway's starting and ending points, i.e. Tsuen
Wan (TW) and Shek Kong (SK). Tsuen Kam Au, the highest
point along the route, is some 500 metres above sea
level. At this hilltop locale you find the Tai Mo
Shan Country Park management centre.
